Social media is everywhere, and it is not going away anytime soon. We live in a time that is ruled by image, and how you look is as important as who you are. Image coupled with outrageous behavior seems to make people famous these days. Cosmetic enhancement is a status symbol.
With millions of followers on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.
For example, the Kardashian’s have become major influences on today’s desired perception of beauty, fashion, and lifestyle. This influence can be seen as younger and younger patients flock to change what they don’t like about themselves.
Ages 13 through 29 accounts for over one million plastic surgical invasive and noninvasive procedures annually and continues to grow.
What do the Kardashian’s have that everyone is asking for?
Perfect noses, full lips, slim waists, bigger butts, breasts and hips are becoming the idolized female attributes, thanks to the influence this family has on multiple media platforms.
Surgical and Nonsurgical ways to Change your Image
Plastic surgery is now the new normal and looking like you have had “work done” is becoming a visible social status. There are several surgical and nonsurgical options that are available to change your image:
Wrinkles and lines aren’t the only signs of aging. Over time, the cheeks flatten, and the skin may begin to sag. This is caused by a natural loss of volume in the cheek area, or what the experts call age-related midface volume loss.
VOLUMA® XC is designed to add volume beneath the skin’s surface to lift and contour the cheek area. It’s the only filler proven to last up to 2 years in the cheek area! It can also be used to smooth the jaw line.
Filler can improve the shape and appearance of your nose.
Plump your lips with Juvederm XC Ultra, or just fill out the lines in the lips and around the mouth with no added volume using Vobella XC. You can also lift the eye area and improve under eye circles with Vobella XC.
Vollure XC is great to smooth the nasolabial folds that go from your nose to your mouth, oral commisures (the area that makes the corners of the mouth to turn down).

Vanquish can slim and tone your waist, thighs, or back fat.

VelaShape lll or Exilis Ultra can change the shape of your buttocks, slim your arms or thighs. Sometimes it’s not an issue of removing fat, all that is needed is skin tightening. This can make a big difference in the appearance of your face, arms, legs or any area of your body. Both Exilis lll and VelaShape lll works extremely well for that. There are many generations of these machines but the latest are the only ones that include ultrasound which is the defining factor.
Ultherapy® is the ONLY FDA-cleared, non-invasive procedure that lifts and tightens the neck, chin and brow, and improves lines and wrinkles on the chest. Now commonly referred to as a nonsurgical facelift.
Ultherapy is the only non-invasive procedure FDA-cleared to lift skin on the neck, under the chin and on the eyebrow. Ulthera also improves the appearance of lines and wrinkles on the décolletage, Ultherapy can help you achieve a fresher, more youthful look from your brow to your chest!

The Beauty Scale
There are physical characteristics that are considered objectively beautiful. There is a 10 point beauty scale that is sometimes used to measure someone’s beauty.
The characteristics that are universally considered beautiful are:
- Big, wide set eyes
- Full lips
- High cheekbones
- Small chin
- Small nose
- Oval shaped face
- Clear skin
The population beauty distribution and categorization is as follows:
- Very Unattractive – 2%
- Unattractive – 15%
- Slightly Below Average – 10%
- Average – 46%
- Slight Above Average – 10%
- Attractive – 15%
- Beautiful – 2%
Beautiful people and Ugly people are rare but most people fall into the average category.
Cosmetic Enhancement can Increase Confidence
We are just not selling skincare we’re providing hope, confidence and the chance to change people’s future by changing their appearance. There are so many people that never achieve their full potential because they don’t have the confidence to go after their dreams.
If you look around really beautiful people are definitely the minority, they’re like the super rich.
Everybody deserves to feel good, have confidence in their appearance and how people react to them.
If you want to change something about yourself, more than likely, there is a way to do it.
There are now enough nonsurgical options that plastic surgery is taking a backseat.
Cosmetic enhancement is a beautiful art form and can dramatically change someone’s image for the better if performed by a skilled provider.
The Art of Moderation
But like everything moderation is the key. It’s nice to enhance some features but it can be taken too far.
Too much filler results and a caricature like image.
With dysmorphia people lose sight of the fact that they are starting to look really unnatural. It’s up to the provider to reign them in when they’re asking for something that is going too far.
I have devoted my career to helping clients achieve a fresh, vibrant and more youthful appearance.
I believe the key to beauty is to appear naturally flawless and possess a youthful glow—to never look “done.” My local and international clientele includes many celebrities who consistently value the skill, discretion and high-tech array of non-invasive and highly effective cosmetic procedures I provide.
The pressure is real though, people respond more positively to beautiful people.
The Reality
They aren’t being mean by choice, it is instinctual. There are studies with 18 month old babies who respond more positively to beautiful people and negatively to unattractive people. It could make you second choice in a job interview with an equally qualified opponent.
Physical appearance factors into how people respond to you in general, but is really important if you’re in sales, marketing, presenting and or even middle-aged trying to compete in the job market.
If you look older they are more prone to replace you with someone younger, more attractive and that is willing to for less money.
So even though it’s unfair, it’s reality.
Smoke and Mirrors
A lot of what we see on TV in a magazine is smoke and mirrors. A common phenomenon associated with this problem is “The Photoshop Effect.” The images that young men and women see are often not reality.
In truth, the person commonly does not even exist.
Through the use of Photoshop, a person’s entire appearance can be altered, or an entirely new person can be created.
This becomes a concern for society when young men and women strive to become these false appearances. More often than not, they are compelled to recreate the perfection they see. Cindy Crawford said she wouldn’t even recognize her self in the mirror from the picture.
Jennifer Lopez, Kate Hudson, Cameron Diaz and Tyra Banks have been wonderful about revealing pictures that show they are not really perfect.
Obesity and eating disorders have become so common in children and adolescents along with an unhealthy obsession with food, diet, and appearance in the general population. For those young people who believe that they fall short of this ideal (as the vast majority do), the outcome is low self-esteem, biased perceptions about how much food they should eat, and how they should look.
The only reason you should change your body is if you want to change it, not because someone on social media did.
With any modification procedure, you must educate yourself on:
- Types of procedures performed
- Risks
- Benefits
- Longevity
For your safety I cannot stress the importance of discussing your options with a specialist in the particular procedure you want to undergo. Sadly, most women spend more time picking out a pair of shoes than they do their plastic surgeon.
When considering plastic surgery, you need an experienced board-certified plastic surgeon who is an expert in the field who can show you proof of exceptional results.
